Georgia-Pacific and Sherwood Lumber Announce Engineered Wood Products Distribution Agreement

Georgia-Pacific Wood Products and Sherwood Lumber Company have announced a new distribution agreement involving GP's full line of engineered wood products (EWP).    

The two companies have finalized terms that will provide for Sherwood Lumber to supply its dealers with a complete line of Georgia-Pacific engineered wood products, including Wood I Beam™ joists, GP Lam® laminated veneer lumber (LVL), FiberStrong® rim board and laminated beams.

"We believe this agreement shows our strong commitment to the engineered wood products category," said Andy Goodman, CEO of Sherwood Lumber. "We are pleased to be adding a strong brand like Georgia-Pacific to the Sherwood Lumber product offering."

Sherwood & Georgia-Pacific Enter EWP Distribution Agreement

Sherwood Lumber and Georgia-Pacific Wood Products have announced an agreement for Sherwood to distribute Georgia-Pacific's full line of engineered wood products. The products will initially be available from Sherwood's distribution center in Palmer, MS then out of Holtsville, NY and Delanco NJ.

The three- day annual Northeastern Retail Lumber Association (NRLA) LBM Expo 2012 was held recently at MGM Foxwoods and attended by a high-volume crowds who visited two showroom floors and attended a packed schedule of speakers. Industry Dashboard for March 19, 2012

Gas prices crept up to a national average of $3.83 per gallon of regular. Elsewhere on the Dashboard, January sales are well ahead of the same month in 2011.

Sherwood Supplies Lumber to Rachael Ray Show

Sherwood Lumber is delighted to have donated units of Birch Hardwood Plywood in October 2011 to the set of the new Rachael Loft TV Show, which will be used in the production of the cabinets.

Rachel’s Loft is a spin-off of the Rachel Ray Show, which will feature more cooking recipes and tips, in Rachel’s new “home away from home” in the heart of New York City.

Industry Dashboard for Feb. 20, 2012

Across the monthly retail sales chart, the last three months of available data show strength compared with the previous year. Also on the Dashboard, gas prices crept upward.

Sherwood Lumber Opens New Sales Office in Oregon

Sherwood Lumber has opened a new sales office in Medford, Oregon. The group is headed by industry veteran Bill Perkins and is staffed by Frank Peterson, Scott Eilefson, and Larry Rogers. Steve Parson will work in sales support. The group brings to Sherwood a customer base primarily in California and other western states. Sherwood is headquartered in Islandia, N.Y.
