Sherwood Lumber Hosts Open House

LONG ISLAND, N.Y.—Sherwood Lumber held an Open House on Oct. 12 at its 65-acre Prime Distribution Center in Palmer, Mass. Customers from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, and New York were in attendance.

Seminars on futures, forward pricing, and risk management, in addition to tours of the facility, industry workshops on improving the bottom line, and a timber supply outlook presented by Tolko Industries were some of the activities available. Sherwood’s Prime Distribution Services boasts a 50,000-square-foot warehouse, a variety of inventory from commodity lumber and plywood to hardwood panels and rock salt, $20 million in inventory, and a fleet of trucks.

Coast to coast, Sherwood supplies more than 1,800 lumber yards and manufacturers with building materials from environmentally managed producers in North and South America, Europe and Asia.
